Supercluster sat down with Charles M. Chafer, CEO of Celestis, at Cape Canaveral to learn the history and future of space memorial services. Celestis launched their first memorial mission in 1997, and the manifest included Gene Rodenberry, creator of Star Trek. Most recently, on June 25th, 2019, Celestis launched the remains of 152 individuals on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket.
